How to send an "e-mail" (in 1984)...

A retro guide from Thames TV's Database programme. "It's a very easy process" - using a rotary phone with a digit 15 number!
You can imagine there was a lot less spam back in 1984! Julian Green shows how a Prestel (short for “press telephoneâ€) user had to dial up the main Prestel system in order to connect, which he does with a rotary telephone. He even shares his "microcomputer" with other people as the cost of ownership is so high.
The most interesting bit is maybe his password - a very insecure "1234".
